Elkader is located in Clayton County surrounded by the hills of the beautiful Turkey River valley. Several buildings within this Great American Main Street community received a facelift in 2014 through a Main Street Facade Master Plan Grant program. Take a stroll down Main Street to see all the work that has taken place. There are lots of great shops to browse through including antiques, gifts, quilts, and art. And if you are hungry be sure to grab a bite to eat with everything from coffee and baked goods to Irish and American food.
