Phase I of the land trail is nearing completion with the final construction taking place on the Valley bridge project.  We anticipate the bridge being open to the public by June 30th!  Stay tuned for more information on the officially “Grand Opening” of this portion of the TRRC land trail!

Water Trails

The Turkey River Water Trail was officially dedicated as a State Water Trail in July 2011.  The 98-mile Turkey River Water Trail begins on the Little Turkey River at Gouldsburg Park in Fayette County, merges with the Turkey River near Eldorado, and flows southeast through Fayette & Clayton counties toward the Mississippi River.  The water trail features beautiful scenery and numerous historic landmarks.

  • Located in Northeast Iowa, the corridor spans across Clayton and Fayette Counties encompassing the communities of Clermont, Elgin, Elkader and Motor Mill.
